Stage 4
Learning different strokes! This stage introduces the learning of all 4 strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Front Crawl) starting with the leg kick. Skulling, log rolls, push and glides alongside flotation skills will also become established in stage 4.

Stage 5
Skills and full stroke! Throughout stage 5 children will be taught how to co-ordinate swimming each of the 4 different strokes using both their arms and legs. Treading water, handstands and summersaults along with performing stationary skulling will also be practiced.

Stage 6
Full stroke techniques! Breathing techniques and distance swimming is the focus in stage 6. Understanding and preparing for exercise and water safety is also important! Swimming in PJ’s, shout and signal rescue’s as well as surface diving will be planned into lessons.

Stage 7
Final stage of Learn to Swim! Stage 7 will see children perfect all 4 strokes and skills learned in the previous stages of AquaStars and Swim England standards.
